I love documentaries, so I’ve had a go at directing a few of my own. They’ve been commissioned by Nowness and shown at the Cannes Film Festival.

But you can see them right here. Right now.
On this very website…

Diablo Rojo

From the title, you’d be forgiven for thinking this one was about something sexy and exciting, like a Panamanian drug cartel or a bare knuckle boxer. But it’s actually about a man who paints buses. I’m not selling it very well. It’s better than it sounds.

Rí Thoraí

Tory is a remote, sparsely populated island with its own king. Technically speaking, Patsy was ‘The Last King of Ireland. In hindsight, that probably would have been a snappier title.

I went to stay on Tory and hang out with him. It was extremely windy. As as well as being the monarch, he was an outsider artist of some note. He painted severe storms, ancient monsters and, oddly enough, Saddam Hussain. Sadly Patsy passed away recently.

The film was shown at the Cannes Film Festival. More importantly, it got a very favourable review from the King.
